The courage to change your mind.
A podcast where personal stories of change meet expert perspectives from psychology, health, and beyond. What does it really take to start again?
Beyond surface-level self-help.
Second Start is an interview podcast that brings together two kinds of voices: people who've had the courage to change direction in their lives, and experts who help us understand why and how we make those changes.
Each episode is a real conversation, filmed in person in London, about the science, the stories, and the practices behind personal shift and alignment. From psychology and the body to consciousness, identity, communication, and beyond.
Hi, I'm Tennessee.
I'm a Franco-American podcast host, based in London. I studied psychology in Paris, then spent years working in publishing. Starting this podcast was its own kind of second start.
I created Second Start out of genuine curiosity. Every question I ask my guests is one I've spent time thinking about. Before every episode, I read my guests' books, study their methods, and prepare deeply so we can try and cover the complexity of their experiences or the subjects we discuss.
I want the podcast to be a space where people feel safe enough to be open, and where taking a risk is the whole point!

I would love to talk to experts, practitioners, and people with a personal story of change. Anyone whose experience or knowledge could help listeners see their own life from a new angle.
Topics are intentionally broad: psychology, health and the body, creative practice, relationships, identity, how we change and why. If you've spent time thinking about one of these subjects deeply, I'd love to talk.
